Startup company Craft is reshaping the world of visual storytelling with a new digital platform that offers artists access to over 70,000 pieces of art from high-quality animated projects including Oscar-nominated features ‘The Secret of Kells’ and ‘Song of the Sea.’ Subscribers to the platform will have access to a wealth of raw, work-in-progress material from both animation and game productions, each sorted into various crafts such as scriptwriting, storyboarding or character design. They will also have the ability to purchase files from the productions to allow an even closer study, order beautiful production prints, and buy unique 3D printed character models.
The creation of this platform follows the trend of increasing transparency within the industry as more and more and artists, creators, and companies share content with audiences while still in the production stages. Craft aims to further this and attract more viewers to projects during their production as well as provide a great resource for creatives around the world.
“In my 10 years in animation, I have experienced the usefulness of learning and getting inspired by what other professionals have created,” says Craft co-founder and CEO Frederik Villumsen. “Craft passes this opportunity on to professionals, students and fans around the world.”
