Disney XD is continuing to make a name for itself in original animated series by ordering two new productions - ‘Country Club’ and ‘Billy Dilley’s Super-Duper Subterranean Summer’ - as well as renewing fresh seasons of the comedy hit ‘Star vs. The Forces of Evil and short-form series ‘Two More Eggs.’
Viewers are already expressing great excitement for ‘Country Club’, created by comic book duo Shane and Chris Houghton, both most recently involved on the story team for Nickelodeon’s ‘Harvey Beaks’. The show follows the antics of Cricket Green - a mischievous and optimistic country boy whose family moves to the big city. Cricket’s inquisitive nature and high energy lead his family into a variety of adventures and endear them to their new urbanite neighbors. The show will premier in 2018 and be executive produced by Rob Renzetti who served on hit series ‘Gravity Falls’.
‘Billy Dilley’s Super-Duper Subterranean Summer’ is the brain child of master creator Aaron Springer, a writer and director who has worked on ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’, ‘Gravity Falls’ and the Mickey Mouse shorts.Premiering in 2017, the show follows eccentric, science-obsessed 7th grader Billy Dilley (voiced by Jessica McKenna) and his lab partners Zeke (Tom Kenny) and Marsha (Catie Wayne) as summer vacation takes an unexpected turn and they get trapped in a strange, magical world beneath the Earth’s surface. Springer serves as executive producer.
‘Star vs The Forces of Evil’, created by Daron Nefcy, has been picked up for a third season, while ‘Two More Eggs’, created by The Brothers Chaps (aka Mike and Matt Chapman) will begin production on its order for season 2.
