Sprout, NBC Universal Cable Entertainment’s 24-hour preschool network, has picked up the Canadian holiday animated special ‘The Magic Hockey Skates’ which it will premier this December.
The half-hour animated special will form part of Sprout’s holiday line-up, which will also offer movies and specials every weekend throughout December. Directed by Jason Boose, and Sarah Mercey, ‘The Magic Hockey Skates’ is a 2D animated special that follows a young boys’ journey as he gains confidence and self-respect with the help of a pair of magic skates. The story is adapted from a book of the same name and is produced by Amberwood Entertainment.
eOne holds international broadcast rights for The Magic Hockey Skates, which have been sold to international broadcasters such as Disney Channel (Latin America, Brazil), SRC (Canada), France Télévisions (France), KiKA (Germany), SVT (Sweden), DR Danish Broadcasting Corporation (Denmark) and MBC (the Middle East).
