DreamWorks Animations’ new film, ‘Trolls’, is growing more impressive by the day, having now added even more notable names to the already booming voice cast. Zooey Deschanel (New Girl, 500 Days of Summer), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (How to Train Your Dragon, Neighbors), Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent, Arrested Development), Christine Baranski (The Good Wife, Into the Woods), Quvenzhané Wallis (Annie, Beasts of the Southern Wild) and John Cleese (Shrek Forever After, A Fish Called Wanda) will fill out thestar-studded cast to be led by Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake.
“Our cast is quite literally bursting with talent,” said Director Mike Mitchell. “This mix of comedic and musical star-power is every filmmaker’s dream.”
Mitchell, who directed hit films ‘Shrek Forever After, and ‘The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water’, will co-direct ‘Trolls’ with Walt Dohrn (Head of Story, Shrek Forever After) with the film being produced by Gina Shay (Producer, Shrek Forever After). 20th Century Fox will begin the film’s global release rollout in select European markets beginning October 13, 2016 and in the US on November 4.
‘Trolls’ is set to be one of the holiday season’s most energetic, colourful, and music-packed films, taking audiences into the upbeat world of unforgettable characters based on of the Troll dolls by Thomas Dam. Prepare for fresh and hair-raising adventure as you follow the story of the overly optimistic Trolls, with a constant song on their lips, and the comedically pessimistic Bergens, who are only happy when they have trolls in their stomach.
The film features original music from Justin Timberlake and soon-to-be-classic mash-ups of songs from popular artists and cast members including Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Gwen Stefani and many more!
